A Historic Montgomery Neighborhood

CIA Annual Events

One of the greatest parts of being a part of the Cloverdale-Idlewild community are all of the exciting events to look forward to each year!

4th of July Parade
Each year on the 4th of July everyone meets on the corner of Lexington and Plymouth at 2pm. We parade up and down the streets of Cloverdale-Idlewild ending our route at the Cloverdale Bottom Park with a short talk on the history of the holiday and to enjoy drinks and snacks. Attendees are encouraged to go all out with red, white and blue with flags, decorated bicycles or wagons, pets in costume ect. See you there, and God Bless the USA!
Thanksgiving on Plymouth

We gather as neighbors annually on the corner of Lexington and Plymouth at 4pm. The CIA provides tables, plates and napkins, while neighbors bring chairs and a dish to share. You're sure to get a full plate (or two) of food you'll love!
Christmas Caroling
On December 23 we join our merry band of carolers together at the corner of Lexington and Plymouth. Bring any instruments you can and join us (and our drink cart) as we stroll through the streets of Cloverdale-Idlewild to sing to those who have requested a visit. At the end of our journey we enjoy a community bonfire at Cloverdale Bottom Park, complete with hot cocoa and marshmallows.
To request a visit from the carollers, please email thecolvins@knology.net .
Cloverdale Chili Cookoff
This annual event is a neighborhood favorite! Come out with your best pot of chili and see how it competes against the rest. Not a cook? That's ok join us for a great concert and join us for some of the best chili in the city!
